Happy Spring with Zara #styledbybriavancooten

Springtime always sneaks in like a soft reset, longer days, warmer light, and that sudden urge to create something fresh. This season, I found myself itching to shoot again, not anything overly conceptual or heavy, just something easy, real, and wearable. That’s where Rich came in, my constant muse, always up for bringing my ideas to life and I appreciate her.

The concept started simple, everyday outfits, but elevated through styling and perspective. I wanted looks that felt like they could exist in anyone’s closet, but still carried intention. So I pulled a selection from Zara, pieces that felt current but not overthought. Think light layers, soft knits, and those effortless staples that always work this time of year. I even styled her in mens jeans. I always tell people, don't just shop in "your section" look around the whole store.

Styling this shoot was so much fun. Having fun with mixing color or layering some nice cream, champagne and whites. Even elevating a sweatsuit which everyone probably has in their closet and could use a reason to step up the styling. Rich naturally brought her own energy to each look, which made everything feel even more lived in and authentic.

I got to shoot and use my in home studio again which is always nice to create more in. I also haven't done some camera shooting in a while so it was nice to step back into it and back into editing photos. Just strengthening my skills as a creator.

This shoot reminded me that not everything has to be a big production to feel meaningful. Sometimes it’s just about a good idea, the right person, and trusting your eye. Spring has a way of making everything feel a little lighter, a little more possible and this was my way of capturing that.

More than anything, it made me excited to continue creating. New season, new energy, and definitely more moments like this on the way.
