Danielle fashion spread part 1 #StyledbyBriaVanCooten

Last year I styled Danielle, a young model from the Caribbean. The theme of this shoot was to put her in different styles of outfits to showcase her versatility of looks. Showing versatility shows that you're a chameleon, someone that different brands would want to work with.
Even for myself as a stylist, it shows my versatility of putting together different types of looks.

For this shoot I styled 6 looks(this is part 1, part 2 coming soon), each look represented a different theme and idea in my head. My thought process while putting together these looks started with her skin complexion. I wanted to add colors, textures and patterns to bring out her beautiful complexion. I wanted to use as much color as possible, cause like I always say, color is beautiful on black people. We make color look good!

On this shoot I worked with one of my favorite photographers, Donn Thompson. I love working with Donn because he's great at what he does, he has a great eye, he understands color, fashion, what looks good and he let's me be the stylist and create because he trusts my eye and I trust his. Donn always looks out for me and I always appreciate that.

Outfit deets:

Outfit 1-
Two piece suit: Zara
Shoes- Zara
I really loved this orange outfit, it complimented her skin so perfectly. After putting together this outfit, it reminded me of a Chanel look. I wasn't thinking about Chanel but it shows that your subconscious is always working.

Outfit 2-
Jacket & pants: Bershka
Top: Bershka
Boots: Topshop
I wanted to keep this look neutral with the all white, I love white clothing. Of course, like I said I wanted to use a lot of color so I added in the pop of pink. And to tie the look in I chose black boots to contrast from the all white.

Outfit 3-
Blazer & cycling shorts: Bershka
Tee: H&M
Socks: Steve Madden
Sneakers: Adidas
This final outfit for part one was a chill vibe with a dressy touch. The sneakers and the fishnet socks gave the look a young feel.
